The Pagani Zonda is an iconic mid-engine supercar that launched the Italian marque's history in 1999 and remained in production until 2019 through bespoke special editions. The car is based on a rigid spaceframe and carbon-fibre monocoque, offered in coupé, roadster, and rare open-top configurations. Throughout its evolution, the model was powered by naturally aspirated Mercedes-Benz V12 engines ranging from 6.0 to 7.3 liters developed by AMG, paired with manual or sequential transmissions. The primary changes over its lifecycle involved continuous weight reduction, aerodynamic improvements, and engine tuning upgrades from the initial 394 horsepower to over 750 horsepower in final iterations like the 760 series and the track-only R variant. Facelifts and limited runs were hand-built to individual orders for affluent clients worldwide, with Europe, the Middle East, and Asia serving as the primary markets, although the original model lacked official homologation for the US market.
