The second-generation mid-size crossover offering increased dimensions and an extended pure-electric range on PHEV models.
Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2024, the second-generation MG HS represents a substantial evolution, closely related mechanically to the third-generation Roewe RX5. The vehicle grew significantly in stature, boasting a lengthened wheelbase of 2,765 mm, which noticeably expanded rear legroom and cargo capacity. Powertrain choices comprise an updated 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 170 hp and 275 Nm of torque via a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. A prominent plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant pairs a 142 hp petrol engine with an electric motor for a system output exceeding 300 hp. Equipped with a substantial 24.7 kWh battery, the PHEV achieves an EV-only range of over 120 km (WLTP). The cockpit is dominated by twin 12.3-inch high-definition displays, advanced ADAS driver aids, and wireless device charging.
