The second-generation MG GT was officially launched in 2021, serving as an internationally oriented fastback sedan closely related to the second-generation MG 5. Based on an updated modular front-wheel-drive architecture from SAIC, the car showcases an aggressive exterior styling language characterized by a wide gaping grille, sharp LED headlamps, and a sleek coupe-like profile. Under the bonnet, customers can choose between an entry-level naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 118 hp, coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT, and a high-performance 1.5-litre Mega Tech turbocharged engine delivering 173 hp mated exclusively to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with a fully digital instrument cluster, a responsive widescreen infotainment system, and heavily bolstered sport seats. Compared to the first generation, the chassis provides superior torsional rigidity, enhanced acoustic insulation, and improved passenger space. The vehicle has achieved considerable success across key export regions including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, remaining in active production.
