MG 7 II gallery (2023–present)
The second generation MG7 returned as a striking mid-size fastback liftback built upon SAIC's modern modular Sigma architecture.
Unveiled in late 2022 with market deliveries beginning in spring 2023, the second-generation MG7 completely reinvented the nameplate as the flagship sports vehicle in MG's Black Label design portfolio. Moving away from the classic three-box shape of its predecessor, the new car adopted an aggressive five-door liftback silhouette featuring frameless door windows, quad exhaust tips, and an active three-stage motorized rear spoiler. Underneath, it rides on SAIC's advanced modular Sigma platform, incorporating independent front MacPherson and rear multi-link suspension systems, available with mCDC electronically controlled adaptive damping and an electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD). Powertrain options comprise two turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engines: a 1.5-litre unit generating 188 hp paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, and a potent 2.0-litre unit generating 261 hp and 405 Nm of torque mated to a 9-speed torque-converter automatic transmission sourced from ZF. The cabin features high-end appointments, sport bucket seats, and a sweeping 33-inch continuous display panel running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. Primarily manufactured in China, the second-generation MG7 is actively sold domestically and exported to key international markets across the Middle East, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
