MG 3 II (ZP11) gallery (2011–2024)

The second-generation MG 3 (chassis code ZP11) launched in 2011 as a completely modern supermini conceived at SAIC Motor's UK technical centre in Longbridge. Built on an all-new bespoke B-segment platform with MacPherson struts up front and a rear torsion beam, it offered a modern five-door hatchback body marked by sharp styling, LED daytime running lights, and prominent vertical tail lamps. Under the bonnet, power came from SAIC's NSE family of naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engines, including a 1.3-litre unit and a 1.5-litre VTi-Tech developing between 106 and 111 hp. Transmissions included a five-speed manual, an automated manual transmission (e-Shift), and later a conventional four-speed torque-converter automatic sourced from Aisin. A major mid-cycle refresh in 2018 completely redesigned the front end with the new corporate 'star rider' grille, upgraded the cabin with touchscreen infotainment, and expanded its commercial success across the UK, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
