Mercedes-Benz AMG GT I (C190) gallery (2014–2021)

The first generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT (C190 coupe and R190 roadster) was unveiled in September 2014 as the direct successor to the SLS AMG. Built on a lightweight aluminum spaceframe chassis, it retained a front-mid engine layout and a 7-speed dual-clutch rear transaxle, but adopted conventional doors for enhanced everyday usability. A soft-top Roadster variant joined the range in 2016.

All C190 models were driven by a dry-sump 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine (M178). The range scaled from the base GT (462 hp to 530 hp) and GT S (510 hp) to the widebody GT C (557 hp) and the track-honed GT R (585 hp) featuring active aerodynamics and rear-wheel steering. In 2020, AMG introduced the extreme GT Black Series featuring a flat-plane crankshaft V8 producing 730 hp, which set a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for production cars. Production finished in late 2021.
