Lincoln Town Car II (FN36) gallery (1989–1997)

Introduced in late 1989 for the 1990 model year, the redesigned second-generation Town Car underwent a substantial exterior overhaul on the Panther platform, shedding sharp boxy edges for a sleek, aerodynamic body with flush-mounted glass. For the 1991 model year, the car became the launchpad for Ford's all-new overhead-cam 4.6-liter Modular V8 engine producing 190 to 210 hp, which replaced the pushrod 5.0-liter Windsor and was paired with an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. Standard rear air suspension provided Lincoln's signature plush boulevard ride. A major mid-cycle refresh for 1995 redesigned the front fascia with smaller headlights and introduced a completely modernized interior with a contemporary dashboard and steering wheel controls. The second-gen Town Car was widely exported to the Middle East and dominated the North American commercial livery and limousine conversion markets.
