The third-generation Kia Sorento (UM) premiered in South Korea in August 2014. Built on an upgraded chassis with a 80 mm longer wheelbase (2,780 mm) and an overall length of 4,780 mm, it achieved a 14% increase in torsional rigidity through 53% advanced high-strength steel utilization. The exterior featured a prominent 3D-pattern Tiger Nose grille, swept-back headlights, and muscular side sculpting. This generation of the Sorento (UM) was produced from 2014 to 2020 and offered in внедорожник body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering.

Powertrains included 2.4-liter GDI (188 hp), 3.3-liter V6 (250-290 hp), and 2.0-liter T-GDI turbo petrol engines, alongside 2.0-liter (185 hp) and 2.2-liter (200 hp) CRDi diesels. The Dynamax AWD system developed with Magna provided torque distribution control. A 2017 facelift added an 8-speed automatic transmission, triple-lens LED headlights, a redesigned steering wheel, and a GT-Line specification. The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions.
