About this generation

The second generation of the Kia Cadenza featuring an advanced high-rigidity chassis, concave grille, and Harman Kardon audio. The model combines proven engineering reliability, refined.

The second-generation Kia Cadenza (YG) premiered in early 2016. It featured a concave Intaglio grille, distinctive Z-shaped LED light signatures front and rear, and a body frame composed of over 51% advanced high-strength steel. Length spanned 4,990 mm with a 2,855 mm wheelbase, sheltering Nappa leather trim and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. This generation of the Cadenza (YG) was produced from 2016 to 2021 and offered in седан body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering. The generous wheelbase and clever interior packaging ensure superior passenger accommodation and ergonomic comfort for long travel.

Powertrains highlighted a 3.3-liter V6 Lambda II GDI (290 hp) mated to an 8-speed automatic, alongside a 2.4-liter GDI (190 hp) and a Hybrid variant. A 2019 facelift (styled K7 Premier) introduced a 2.5-liter Smartstream engine (198 hp) and dual 12.3-inch widescreen displays. The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions. Mid-cycle updates introduced modernized LED lighting graphics, premium cabin materials, and enhanced active driver assistance suites.
