The first-generation Kia Cadenza (VG; badged as K7 in South Korea) launched in late 2009 to replace the outgoing Opirus. Designed by Peter Schreyer, its sleek sedan profile featured Kia's signature Tiger Nose grille and LED accent lighting. Built on Hyundai-Kia's N platform, it measured 4,965 mm long with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. This generation of the Cadenza (VG) was produced from 2009 to 2016 and offered in седан body styles. Built on an engineered platform, it features strong structural rigidity, refined aerodynamics, and advanced occupant safety engineering. The generous wheelbase and clever interior packaging ensure superior passenger accommodation and ergonomic comfort for long travel.

Engine choices featured 2.4-liter Theta II (180-201 hp), 3.0-liter V6 (270 hp), and 3.5-liter V6 Lambda II (290 hp) petrol engines, mated to a 6-speed automatic. A 2012 refresh updated the styling inline with the flagship Quoris/K900, adding adaptive lighting, refined interior materials, and advanced adaptive cruise control. The powertrain lineup features modern engines optimized for thermal efficiency, balancing responsive acceleration with economical fuel consumption. Power is delivered through reliable manual or automatic transmissions. Mid-cycle updates introduced modernized LED lighting graphics, premium cabin materials, and enhanced active driver assistance suites.
