Isuzu Rodeo Sport I gallery (1998–2003)
The Isuzu Rodeo Sport compact frame SUV, known in some markets as the Isuzu Amigo, was a two-door version of the Rodeo model with a soft or hard removable top.
The first-generation Isuzu Rodeo Sport, which debuted in 1998 on the North American market, replaced the popular Amigo model and was based on the ladder-frame platform of the Rodeo mid-size SUV. The body lineup included a practical three-door SUV with the ability to transform the roof into an open option thanks to a soft top or a hard plastic top. Reliable gasoline power units were installed under the hood: an economical 2.2-liter inline-four engine, as well as a productive 3.2-liter V6 motor developing up to 205 horsepower. The transmission was offered as a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic transmission operating in tandem with a rear-wheel drive system or a part-time four-wheel drive system. During production, the model underwent minor updates to the interior and the list of basic equipment, and the main sales markets were North American countries, where the car was appreciated by outdoor enthusiasts for its high cross-country capability and brutal design.
