The third-generation Isuzu N-Series was manufactured from 1993 to 2006, evolving into a truly global commercial vehicle produced in numerous manufacturing hubs worldwide. The cab styling adopted smoother, more aerodynamic contours, which reduced wind noise and improved highway fuel economy. Under the skin, the trucks featured advanced and cleaner turbocharged diesel engines, notably the 4HF1, 4HE1, and later 4HK1 powerplants equipped with high-pressure fuel systems. Transmission choices included rugged manual units and automated manual gearboxes such as Isuzu's Smoother system. A milestone during this generation was the introduction of eco-friendly diesel-electric hybrid variants in the early 2000s, pioneering green tech in the light-duty commercial sector. The lineup spanned diverse chassis codes like NLR, NMR, NNN, NPR, NQR, and the 4WD NPS, with options for single and crew cabs. Assembled across Japan, North America, Russia, and Southeast Asia, this generation secured the N-Series' position as a top-selling global light truck.
