Isuzu Bighorn II (UBS) gallery (1991–2002)

The second generation Isuzu Bighorn with the UBS factory index debuted in 1991, offering a completely updated design and a more spacious interior.

The second generation Isuzu Bighorn with the UBS factory body index saw the light in 1991 and marked a significant step forward in terms of comfort, dynamics, and dimensions. The vehicle retained the classic ladder-frame architecture but received more modern and streamlined body shapes in three-door and five-door versions. The engine range included powerful gasoline engines, including a 3.2-liter and later a 3.5-liter V6 unit, as well as a line of diesel engines, which included a 3.1-liter turbodiesel and a controversial 3.0-liter common-rail motor. Short and long modifications relied on both manual gearboxes and modern automatics, and the four-wheel-drive transmission acquired advanced operating modes. In 1998, the car underwent a major restyling affecting the front-end design, interior layout, and dashboard ergonomics. In domestic and global markets, the car was sold under the names Trooper, Acura SLX, Honda Horizon, Subaru Bighorn, and Opel Monterey, remaining popular in export markets until production ended in 2002.
