The first-generation Hyundai Solaris (RB platform) debuted in late 2010, tailored specifically for Russia and CIS markets. Produced at Hyundai's Saint Petersburg manufacturing facility, the Solaris combined Fluidic Sculpture aesthetics with heavy-duty cold-weather adaptations, including a 160 mm ground clearance and heated wiper windshield zones.

Engine technology featured Gamma 1.4-liter (107 hp) and 1.6-liter (123 hp) petrol engines. A major 2014 facelift introduced modern six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes, projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, and restyled front bumpers.
