The first-generation Hyundai Creta (GS platform, badged ix25 in China) debuted in 2014. Built on Hyundai's Hive Structure architecture incorporating high-strength steel, the Creta featured a 190 mm ground clearance and optional electronically lockable AWD.

Engines included 1.6-liter Gamma (123 hp) and 2.0-liter Nu (150 hp) petrol engines, alongside 1.4L and 1.6L CRDi diesels. Transmissions comprised 6-speed manuals and 6-speed automatics. A 2020 facelift added updated chrome grilles.
