Hongqi HS6 I gallery (2025–present)

The first generation of the Hongqi HS6 mid-size crossover debuted in the Chinese domestic market in late 2025, marking the introduction of a new family of long-range range-extended electric vehicles (REEV). The vehicle is engineered on FAW Group's modular architecture optimized for electrified powertrains. Its five-door SUV body incorporates a high proportion of high-strength steel to achieve rigorous passive safety standards and low interior noise levels. As an all-new nameplate in the Hongqi lineup, the HS6 slots between the established HS5 and HS7, offering a dedicated series-hybrid setup previously unavailable in this size category.

Under the hood, the powertrain operates on a series-hybrid principle where an internal combustion engine functions solely as an onboard electricity generator. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine produces 150 hp and has no mechanical connection to the driven wheels. Propulsion is handled by electric traction motors, offering single-motor front-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations with total power outputs ranging from 225 hp to 495 hp. Electrical energy is stored in a 40 kWh traction battery pack, enabling an all-electric driving range from 148 to 248 km depending on the specification.

A 60-liter fuel tank combined with the large battery allows for an exceptional cruising range, officially recognized by Guinness World Records after the vehicle completed 2,327 km on a single tank and charge. The thermal management system also demonstrated resilience in sub-zero tests, covering 1,131 km at temperatures between -20 and -30 degrees Celsius. Global market rollout, including Russia, is scheduled for mid-2027.
