Holden One Tonner II (VY/VZ) gallery (2003–2005)

The revived second generation cab-chassis built on the modified long-wheelbase Commodore VY and VZ architecture.

Holden revived the One Tonner nameplate in 2003 on the VY series platform, updating it for the VZ series in 2004 before discontinuing production in late 2005. Unlike standard unibody Commodore Utes, the second-generation One Tonner featured a specialized hybrid chassis architecture, combining the front passenger monocoque section with a heavy-duty torque-arm rear ladder frame and a rugged live axle supported by semi-elliptic leaf springs to deliver a genuine 1000 kg payload capacity. Engine options initially consisted of the 3.8-liter Ecotec pushrod V6 and the 5.7-liter Gen III LS1 V8. With the VZ facelift in late 2004, the new all-aluminum 3.6-liter Alloytec DOHC V6 replaced the Ecotec, while the LS1 V8 output was increased. Transmissions comprised 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearboxes alongside GM 4L60-E 4-speed automatic transmissions. In 2004, Holden also introduced the all-wheel-drive One Tonner Cross 6 variant equipped with the Cross Trac AWD system. Marketed across Australasia, it served trade fleets and custom commercial vehicle conversions.
