The second generation of the Haval H7 is underpinned by Great Wall Motor's L.E.M.O.N. modular platform and represents a complete departure from the 2016–2021 predecessor. Replacing the sleek urban styling of the original model, the new generation adopts a rugged, boxy SUV aesthetic characterized by wide wheel arch flares, round LED headlamps, roof rails, and increased ground clearance suitable for light off-road use.

In export specifications such as the Russian market model, the crossover is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 231 hp, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system. In other markets, plug-in hybrid Hi4 variants are also offered.

Inside, the cabin is thoroughly modernized compared to the first generation, featuring a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with lumbar support, rear window sunshades, and a 10-speaker audio system.
