Launched in 2023, the second generation Haval H5 body-on-frame SUV was reinvented as a full-size utility vehicle derived from the King Kong Cannon pickup platform.
Reinvented in 2023, the second generation Haval H5 grew into a full-size body-on-frame SUV measuring 5.19 metres in length. Constructed on the heavy-duty chassis shared with the Great Wall King Kong Cannon pickup truck, it utilizes a live rear axle and independent front double-wishbone suspension. Engine choices consist of a 2.0-litre GW4G20C turbocharged petrol engine delivering up to 218 horsepower and a 2.0-litre GW4D20M turbodiesel generating 166 horsepower. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Off-road credentials feature a Part-Time four-wheel-drive system with low-range transfer case and an optional Eaton rear differential lock. The massive cargo bay of up to 2116 litres accompanies a modern interior equipped with dual digital screens, 360-degree cameras, and driver assist systems. Passengers benefit from a panoramic glass roof, 220V power outlets, and multiple storage compartments. Production is based in China.
