Geely MK I gallery (2006–2020)
The highly reliable and affordable subcompact Geely MK earned widespread popularity due to its mechanical simplicity and extensive localized assembly for international markets.
The subcompact Geely MK was produced from 2006 to 2020 in four door sedan and five door hatchback body styles. In China, the sedan was sold as the Jingang KingKong while the hatchback was named the Jinying. Built on a front wheel drive platform inspired by the first generation Toyota Vios, the vehicle was equipped with 1.5 liter and 1.6 liter four cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engines producing 94 and 106 horsepower. Transmission choices included a five speed manual and a four speed automatic. A distinct interior element was the center mounted instrument cluster located atop the dashboard. Renowned for its low maintenance costs and mechanical resilience, the MK was assembled in multiple countries including Russia Derways plant, Ukraine, Iran, and Indonesia. Generous ground clearance and a robust suspension configuration rendered the vehicle exceptionally well suited for demanding road conditions in developing markets.
