Geely Borui I (KC-1) gallery (2015–2022)

The Geely Borui mid-size executive sedan, marketed internationally as the GC9 or Emgrand GT, was produced from 2015 through 2022 as the flagship of Geely Auto. Designed under the direction of Peter Horbury, the Borui launched Geely's Era 3.0 product generation, introducing sophisticated design standards and advanced safety tech derived from synergy with Volvo. Built on the Geely KC modular platform, the fastback sedan spanned 4,956 mm in length with a 2,850 mm wheelbase, delivering executive-level cabin proportions. Its distinctive exterior was highlighted by a sleek fastback roofline, concave chrome window surrounds, and the first commercial application of Geely's expanding ripple front grille. Initial powertrain offerings included a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder, a 1.8-liter direct-injection turbo four-cylinder, and a flagship 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 275 horsepower. All engines were paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. In 2018, Geely introduced the Borui GE variant, incorporating 48V mild-hybrid (MHEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) systems centered around a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine co-developed with Volvo and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The luxurious interior offered a digital instrument panel, head-up display, Harman Kardon audio system, tri-zone climate control, power-adjustable rear executive seating, and Level 2 autonomous safety features including automated parking and lane keeping assistance.
