The Geely CK compact budget sedan, also marketed as Ziyoujian and Otaka, became one of the brand's early volume production models sold across global markets.
The subcompact sedan Geely CK, also known as Ziyoujian in domestic markets and Otaka in Russia, was produced from May 2005 until January 2016, playing a crucial role in Geely's early global expansion. Featuring a classic three-box sedan profile, it utilized a front-engine, front-wheel-drive configuration. Suspended by front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link independent layout, it offered competitive chassis engineering for its price segment. Power came from 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engines developing between 85 and 94 horsepower, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The CK holds historical significance as the first Chinese passenger car exhibited at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 2006. Standard amenities included air conditioning, power windows, and hydraulic power steering. Assembled from knock-down kits in Russia, Ukraine, Uruguay, and Egypt, the CK built a reputation as an affordable and simple commuter car.
