First generation of the GAC Aion Ray 7 electric sedan featuring a 241 hp rear motor, 700 km CLTC range, and Level 4 autonomous driving capability.
The first generation of the GAC Aion Ray 7 debuted as the pioneering model in Aion's new Ray product family. Styled with an aerodynamic fastback silhouette and full-width LED lighting signatures, the four-door electric sedan measures 4,960 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,455 mm tall, riding on a 2,920 mm wheelbase that provides generous passenger legroom.
Under the skin, the first-generation Ray 7 is engineered on a rear-wheel-drive electric platform with a sophisticated suspension layout, utilizing double wishbones at the front axle and a multi-link arrangement at the rear. It is propelled by a rear-mounted 241-horsepower electric motor, achieving an ultra-low energy consumption rating of 9.7 kWh per 100 km and a CLTC driving range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge from CATL or Yinpai battery packs.
A standout technological feature of the initial Ray 7 generation is its Level 4 (L4) autonomous driving platform, developed in partnership with WeRide. This integration allows advanced self-driving functionalities in both complex urban conditions and highway travel, setting a new benchmark for accessible intelligent electric vehicles.
