Ford Galaxy I (WGR) gallery (1995–2006)

The first-generation Ford Galaxy is a full-size European MPV joint-developed with Volkswagen and produced from 1995 to 2006.

The first-generation Ford Galaxy (WGR) was developed under the AutoEuropa joint venture with Volkswagen Group and manufactured in Palmela, Portugal from 1995 to 2006. It shared its platform, body shell, and interior layout with sister MPVs Volkswagen Sharan and SEAT Alhambra. The cabin offered flexible 7-passenger seating with swiveling front seats.

Powertrains consisted of Ford 2.0L and 2.3L gasoline engines, a VW-supplied 2.8L VR6 engine (174-204 hp), and highly efficient VW 1.9L TDI turbodiesels (90-150 hp). A comprehensive major facelift in 2000 refreshed the exterior styling with Ford's New Edge design cues and introduced an upgraded dashboard layout.
