The North American Ford Freestyle is a full-size 7-passenger crossover built on the Ford D3 platform from 2005 to 2007.

The Ford Freestyle was launched for the 2005 model year as a full-size family crossover blending attributes of a station wagon and an SUV. Built on the Volvo-derived Ford D3 platform at the Chicago Assembly Plant, it featured a versatile three-row seating layout accommodating up to seven passengers alongside high safety ratings.

Power was delivered by a 3.0-liter Duratec 30 V6 gasoline engine producing 203 hp mated exclusively to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Front-wheel drive was standard with an optional Haldex electro-hydraulic all-wheel-drive system. Following a major refresh for the 2008 model year, the vehicle was renamed the Ford Taurus X.
