Ford Fathom I gallery (2027–present)
First generation of Ford's compact electric pickup truck with RWD/AWD options, LFP/NMC batteries, and smart utility modes.
The first generation of the Ford Fathom compact electric pickup truck entered production for the 2027 model year. The vehicle is built as a five-passenger pickup featuring an innovative interior layout with more passenger volume than typical compact crossovers like the Toyota RAV4. In the absence of an internal combustion engine, the Fathom includes a secure, lockable front trunk (frunk) along with its traditional rear cargo bed.
Powertrain options for the first generation include a single-motor rear-wheel-drive layout with a cost-effective lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, alongside an optional dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with an extended-range NMC battery pack. The truck incorporates bi-directional vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home charging, hands-free Ford BlueCruise semi-autonomous highway driving, Apple Maps-powered native route planning, and specialized utility profiles including Pet Mode and Camp Mode.
