About this generation

The second-generation C-MAX offered the 7-seat Grand C-MAX with sliding doors and Energi PHEV powertrains.

Debuting in 2010, the C-MAX Mk2 was built on the global Focus Mk3 architecture. It expanded into two body configurations: a 5-seat C-MAX and a longer 7-seat Grand C-MAX equipped with rear sliding doors and walkthrough seating. The dashboard featured modern ergonomics with SYNC connectivity.

This generation introduced the electrified C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi Plug-in Hybrid utilizing a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle powertrain. Conventional powertrains featured 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol engines and TDCi diesels until production ended in 2019. The lasting engineering impact of this generation remains a key benchmark in Ford's global model evolution history.
