Mid-size five-door liftback built on the EPA1 platform, available as a battery electric vehicle, range-extended hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell model.

Introduced in 2022 under the internal development code C385, the Deepal SL03 is a mid-size liftback sedan that marked the official debut of Changan Automobile's dedicated new-energy vehicle brand. Built on the purpose-engineered EPA1 modular platform for rear-wheel-drive electrified models, the vehicle features an aerodynamic body boasting a low drag coefficient of 0.23, hidden door handles, aggressive split LED headlight arrays, and a sweeping panoramic glass roof. The interior showcases a high-tech minimalist design philosophy centered around a 14.6-inch central infotainment screen capable of rotating toward the driver or passenger, complemented by an augmented reality head-up display system AR-HUD. Propulsion options encompass pure battery electric vehicle BEV configurations delivering between 218 and 258 horsepower from rear-mounted electric motors, paired with CATL battery packs up to 79.9 kWh for driving ranges reaching 705 kilometers on CLTC driving cycles. The lineup also offers an Extended Range Electric Vehicle EREV variant incorporating a 1.5-liter atmospheric gasoline engine that operates solely as an onboard generator to charge a 28.3 kWh lithium-ion battery. A low-volume hydrogen fuel cell electric FCEV powertrain was additionally introduced at launch. Marketed under the Deepal L07 badge in selected export markets, the SL03 combines sports sedan dynamics with smart connectivity, directly competing with global mid-size electric sedans.
