The Deepal brand, originally launched domestically in China under the name Shenlan, was formally established by Changan Automobile in April 2022. The launch of Deepal was a cornerstone of Changan's strategic shift toward full electrification and the creation of a modern digital vehicle ecosystem tailored for new consumer demands.

Deepal operates within the mainstream to upper-midmarket smart new energy vehicle segment. The brand focuses heavily on younger, tech-savvy drivers who prioritize striking futuristic aesthetics, athletic driving dynamics, integrated smart cockpits, and intelligent digital cabin features.

The brand made its market debut with the sleek Deepal SL03 liftback, offered in both pure battery electric and extended-range electric powertrain configurations. Following the SL03, Deepal introduced the popular S07 midsize crossover SUV and the ruggedly styled G318 extended-range SUV built for overland road trips. The product portfolio continues expanding with additional models such as the S05 crossover and L07 sedan.

Deepal models are engineered on Changan's purpose-built EPA1 modular architecture, which supports rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive EV configurations. Extended-range models utilize Changan's Super Range Extender hybrid technology, pairing a high-efficiency generator with electric motors to provide combined driving ranges exceeding one thousand kilometers.

Deepal has achieved impressive commercial growth in the domestic Chinese market. Furthermore, it serves as a spearhead for Changan's global expansion, backed by a localized manufacturing plant in Thailand and expanding distribution channels across Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Less
