Daewoo Lemans I gallery (1986–1994)

The first-generation Daewoo LeMans compact car was built on the global GM T platform and shared its underpinnings with the European Opel Kadett E.

The first generation of the Daewoo LeMans compact family car entered production in July 1986 based on the GM T platform, closely mirroring the Opel Kadett E. The body style lineup included three- and five-door hatchbacks as well as a four-door sedan. The car was equipped with transverse 1.5-liter gasoline engines tailored to local tax regulations in South Korea, mated to manual and automatic transmissions. The model was exported worldwide under various nameplates, including Pontiac LeMans, Daewoo Racer, and Asüna, gaining strong popularity thanks to its modern aerodynamic styling. Throughout its production run, the vehicle received minor interior and exterior refreshes until it made way for a heavily upgraded version in 1994.
