The second-generation Dacia Spring marks a comprehensive overhaul of the budget electric hatchback, transitioning its assembly from China to the Renault Group plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Developed alongside the reborn Renault Twingo, the vehicle has grown considerably in footprint: total length increased by 15 cm to 3.85 meters, while width expanded by 18 cm to 1.74 meters. Cargo capacity increased to 337 liters, expandable to 1,283 liters with the 50:50 rear seats folded, complemented by an optional 18-liter front trunk.
Propulsion is provided by a single front-mounted electric motor delivering 80 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque. The hatchback accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 12.1 seconds and achieves an electronically limited top speed of 130 km/h. Energy is supplied by a 27.5-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, granting a driving range of up to 250 km on the WLTP test cycle. Charging hardware includes a standard 6.6-kW AC on-board charger, an optional 11-kW AC unit, and 50-kW DC fast-charging capability reaching 80 percent from 15 percent in 28 minutes.
Compared to its predecessor, the cabin features substantial ergonomic upgrades, combining a 7-inch digital gauge cluster with a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, wireless smartphone mirroring, physical switchgear, column-mounted controls, the YouClip accessory mount system, and vehicle-to-load bidirectional power support.
