BYD M6 I gallery (2010–2017)
The first generation BYD M6 multi-purpose vehicle was manufactured from 2010 to 2017 as a spacious seven-seater family MPV heavily inspired by the Toyota Previa.
Launched in July 2010, the first-generation BYD M6 was introduced as BYD's first full-size multi-purpose vehicle aimed at family and executive transport. Built on a front-wheel-drive platform with MacPherson front struts and a rear torsion beam, the 4.82-meter MPV featured aerodynamic single-box styling and dual rear sliding doors closely resembling the Toyota Previa. Engine choices comprised a 2.0-liter BYD483QB four-cylinder engine generating 140 horsepower and a 2.4-liter Mitsubishi 4G69 engine developing 165 horsepower. Gearbox options included a five-speed manual and a four-speed or six-speed automatic transmission. The interior accommodated seven passengers across three rows, featuring captain's chairs in the middle row, three-zone climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, dynamic backing cameras, and a central infotainment display. Produced in China until 2017, the original M6 established BYD's presence in the MPV segment prior to the introduction of the Song Max.
