About the model

The first-generation Audi RS3 (8P) was produced between 2011 and 2012 exclusively as a five-door Sportback liftback. Built on the PQ35 platform, it was engineered around a 2.5-liter inline five-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a dual-clutch S tronic transmission and a Haldex-based quattro all-wheel-drive system, featuring wider front fenders and stiffened sports suspension.

The second generation (8V), available from 2015 to 2020, adopted the modular MQB platform and introduced a four-door sedan alongside the five-door liftback. A redesigned aluminum-block engine substantially reduced curb weight over the front axle. A mid-cycle facelift brought revised front styling, sharper LED headlights, updated digital instrumentation, and recalibrated shift software.

The third generation (8Y), arriving in 2021 and continuing into the present day, is offered in both liftback and sedan body styles. The platform incorporates the RS Torque Splitter rear axle with dual electro-hydraulic clutches, allowing active torque vectoring, while the cabin features updated performance displays and selectable dynamic driving modes.
