About the model
The Audi Q2 debuted in 2016 as the most compact member of the brand's SUV family. Designated as generation I (GA), the vehicle is engineered on the modular MQB platform with a transverse engine layout and is manufactured exclusively as a five-door crossover featuring distinctive geometric body surfacing and contrasting C-pillar blades.
The powertrain lineup comprises turbocharged TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines. Depending on the specification, these units are paired with either manual transmissions or S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearboxes. Entry-level variants feature front-wheel drive, while more powerful versions offer the permanent quattro all-wheel drive system.
A mid-cycle facelift brought revised front and rear bumpers, upgraded LED lighting signatures, and fresh exterior finishes. Inside, the cabin received updated infotainment interfaces, the Audi virtual cockpit display, and revised trim materials. The first-generation Q2 remains in production as an agile urban model.
