The first generation of the Audi Nuvolari is a two-door mid-engine supercar sharing its architecture with the Lamborghini Temerario. Serving as an indirect successor to the R8, the vehicle pioneers Audi's new design direction, emphasizing a sleek silhouette rather than overt external aerodynamic appendages. Production is strictly capped at 499 units globally, with customer handovers beginning in the first half of 2027.

The coupe is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine integrated into a high-performance hybrid powertrain. To guarantee optimal thermal management, the rear deck features integrated cooling slats. The configuration enables a top speed exceeding 217 mph (350 km/h), earning the Nuvolari the title of the fastest production car in Audi's corporate history.

Key changes compared to the prior R8 generation include an adaptive active rear spoiler replacing a fixed wing. The aero surface sits completely flush with the bodywork by default, shifts to a low-downforce configuration on high-speed straights, and generates maximum downforce during heavy braking and sharp cornering. Drivers can also manually activate an F1-inspired DRS mode via a button on the steering wheel.
