The first-generation Audi A7 liftback (C7) debuted in 2010 and remained in production until 2018. Built on the modular MLB platform, the vehicle combined a sloping roofline with a large tailgate. The powertrain range featured naturally aspirated and turbocharged V6 gasoline engines alongside efficient TDI turbodiesels, paired with Multitronic CVTs or dual-clutch S tronic transmissions with quattro all-wheel drive. A mid-cycle refresh introduced updated matrix LED lighting, revised styling, and upgraded infotainment.

The second generation (C8), introduced in 2018 and produced to the present day, retained the distinctive five-door liftback body style. Built on the MLB Evo architecture, it added optional dynamic all-wheel steering and 48-volt mild-hybrid systems across most powertrains. Engines were paired with seven-speed dual-clutch or eight-speed automatic transmissions, routing power through advanced quattro systems.

Generational evolution brought a fully digital dual-touchscreen dashboard layout, comprehensive driver assistance systems, and sharper exterior contours, making the liftback technologically advanced and versatile across different driving conditions.
