The new generation of Alpine's four-seat 2+2 electric sports car is engineered around the modular Alpine Performance Platform (APP). Designed to accommodate multiple body styles and powertrain configurations, the APP architecture will first debut around 2027 under the next-generation electric A110 before underpinning the four-seat coupe. While sharing core platform hardware and electric propulsion technology with the upcoming A110, the 2+2 model features an entirely independent visual identity tailored for global markets.

Following an internal design debate between evoking the wedge-shaped heritage of the 1970s and 1980s A310 and pursuing a clean-sheet aesthetic, Alpine CEO Philippe Krief confirmed that the series-production model ditches retro styling altogether. Instead, its exterior takes inspiration from the forward-looking Alpenglow concept to broaden international appeal beyond niche enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the retro-futuristic A310 Vision show car presented at the Paris Motor Show serves as an independent design study demonstrating the flexibility of the APP platform and may separately inspire a very limited production run similar in spirit to the A110 Ultime special edition.
