Acura RDX II (TB3/TB4) gallery (2012–2018)

The second-generation Acura RDX (TB3/TB4) was produced from 2012 to 2018, featuring a naturally aspirated V6 powertrain focused on ride comfort.

Debuting at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, the second-generation Acura RDX (TB3/TB4 chassis) shifted focus from firm sportiness toward smooth luxury and cabin quietness. The chassis received a longer wheelbase and revised damper tuning, while the complex torque-vectoring SH-AWD was replaced by a lighter, simplified AWD system with Intelligent Control for improved efficiency. Engineering priorities for this generation focused on structural rigidity, chassis refinement, and elevating active safety capabilities.

The previous turbo-four was replaced by a 3.5-liter atmospheric J35 V6 generating 273 horsepower with Variable Cylinder Management, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. A comprehensive 2016 model year refresh added Jewel Eye LED headlights, boosted engine output to 279 horsepower (J35Y6), restyled taillights, and offered the AcuraWatch suite of safety technologies. A comprehensive list of standard features combined with proven powertrain durability helped secure a strong market presence in its segment.
