Introduced in 2006 for the 2007 model year, the first-generation Acura RDX (TB1/TB2 chassis) entered the compact luxury SUV market built on a heavily reinforced global compact platform. Notably, it marked Honda's first application of a turbocharged gasoline engine, utilizing a Variable Flow Turbocharger design to reduce turbo lag.
