Volkswagen Golf GTD Wagon Will Debut in Geneva
Volkswagen has sent some forbidden fruit to this year’s Motor Show in Geneva.
As it is known in North America, a performance variant of the SpotWagen or Golf wagon is called the Golf GTD. It is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbodiesel which generates 181 hp and torque of 280 lb-ft. It will make possible a 62 mph in 7.9 seconds for the GTD wagon. The automaker states that the GTD will return almost 53 mpg, though it’s all about the European testing.
As to the appearance, the GTD has different bumpers, a honeycomb radiator enclosure, flared sills and smoked taillamps. In order to supply more fun, Volkswagen equipped the vehicle with sport suspension. The last makes the ride height lower by 15 mm. There also is a progressive steering which allows more sharp performance during the driving at high speed.
It is obvious, that the GTD will be a model oriented on Europe.
