Meet the Updated 2016 Jetta GLI from Volkswagen
Volkswagen of America is presenting the 2016 Jetta GLI with some moderate changes from the inside and outside.
The Jetta GLI is described as the sedan equivalent of the Golf GTI. The 2016 model year tweaks the car a little bit. Now it has an updated front fascia, revised fog lights and a new honeycomb radiator enclosure. There also is a modified bumper with a diffuser on the model’s back. The Jetta GLI is also equipped with a pair of exhaust tips with a chrome finish.
Unfortunately, pictures of the cabin have not been shown yet. Though, VW assures that the vehicle under consideration will have the MIB 2 infotainment system. It is also known that the 2016 Jetta GLI will be possible to obtain as regular with automatic post-collision brakes. How does this system work? When a collision is detected by the airbag sensors, the system applies brakes.
With an upgrade to the SE variant the customer will receive keyless access with push-button start, rear-view camera, heated seats and six-way power driver seat, automatic dual-zone climate control, sunroof, LED taillights. This is not the end. The car is also equipped with rain-sensing wipers, front and rear Park Distance Control, automatic headlamps and a Fender sound system.
There also is a more expensive SEL package. Obtaining it you will get blind spot detection with rear traffic alert, HomeLink, navigation and bi-xenon headlamps.
The automaker has not changed the engine. Therefore, the model rides with the already known 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol TSI engine. This engine can develop 210 hp (or 156 kW) and torque of 207 lb-ft (or 280 Nm). The power goes to the front wheels through an optional six-speed dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual gear box.
