Toyota Releases 2013 Prius Plug-in MPG Trial
Showing off the advantages of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, Toyota sets up the Prius MPG trial that will force north-eastern based pollution-conscious, charitable organizations versus each other to see who has the best fuel economy.
The trial will feature 5 turns, each of which will include up to 8 competitors. Each organization will drive the Plug-in Prius for at least 30 days, travelling at least 500 miles total and 75 miles per week.
In the end of the 30-day period, the organization that has the highest MPG rating will get a $2,500, while 2nd place wins a $1,000. 3rd place company will receive $500, while all competitors will get a $200 gas card.
“We think that MPG Trial is a way to make environmental education fun,” informed David Christ, CEO of Toyota’s NY District. “By tapping regional companies, we have an opportunity to engage at a local level while presenting the Toyota Prius Plug-In’s ability to make the lives of our fellow community members better.”
