Toyota Announces FJ Cruiser Ultimate Edition before Stopping Production
It’s time for the FJ Cruiser to meet its maker, but before production is axed, Toyota is going to create 2,500 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Editions as a final breath.
Uncovered at the 2013 SEMA Event, the FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition is the most convenient FJ ever according to Toyota. To help tackle the trails, the Ultimate Edition is equipped with TRD off-road suspension, Bilstein shocks and 66mm TRD race coil springs in the front that provide the Ultimate Edition a flat stance. Out back, 50mm rear shocks are fitted with remote reservoirs to diminish damping fade.
Additionally, a front skid plate with TRD embossed right into it is equipped to make the Ultimate Edition look tough and to enhance the approach angle.
Notably, that the wheels, which also come from TRD, are 16-inch BF Goodrich beadlock tires, while rock rails and a roof rack complete perfectly the exterior. Special “Heritage Blue” paint also differentiates this special model, along with a white grille surround.
Interior features stayed nearly the same as the regular FJ, providing a leather-trimmed steering wheel, an 115v power outlet and floating-ball multi-information display, though the Ultimate Edition receives a stainless steel dash plaque.
Power is generated by the same 261-hp 4.0-liter V6 that is equipped in every FJ Cruiser.
