Hydrogen Fuel Cell Cars Are Recalled By Toyota
Almost 2,840 Mirai hydrogen fuel cell cars from Toyota fall under a global recall.
The producer from Japan says that the Mirai experiences a recall because of an issue with the output voltage that is generated by the fuel cell system. The automaker specifies that under specific driving conditions, there is a chance that the output voltage generated by the fuel cell boost converter might overcome the highest possible voltage.
For example, this can happen when the gas pedal is depressed to the wide open throttle position after riding on a long descent under the condition of using cruise control.
In order to overcome this problem, the producer is going to upgrade the software free of charge. The whole process will last 30 minutes only.
