Energy from Fuel-Cell Toyota to be Used for Domestic Needs
Consumer Electronics Show 2014 became a perfect stage for Toyota to boast its fuel-cell concept and show the ways the car can serve a source of home power.
More than 100 kW can be produced by the motor working on the fuel-cell car. Filled full with hydrogen, the power gained from the motor would suffice for a week-long electrical support of a standard house, Toyota claims. The engineers of the company are now busy looking for a way to equip the car with external supply of power which could safely be implemented at home.
Although it is not the principal focus of the fuel-cell car, the Japanese carmaker has been very enthusiastic about the way the hybrid models help solve the issue with the emergency source of power. This anxiety can be understood, as after the catastrophe in the country in 2011 Toyota Prius served as a power generator for the wrecked houses.
