Reuters reports that the manufacturer’s market value decreased in two times since the original announcement appeared. So, after this new piece, expect the greater effect on the producer’s finance.
Earlier the producer confessed that the oldest non-compliance connected with fuel economy dated back to 2002. Now the company claims that it has been testing with the help of methods that are not compliable with the Japanese regulations for the last quarter of century.
Mitsubishi has chosen to perform fuel economy standards compliable with American regulations. The difference between the regulations of the U.S. and Japan is rather big. Japan focuses on city driving while America emphasizes highway driving.
