New Mercedes G-Class Gets Down and Dirty
The G-Class from Mercedes is adored by rich and famous clients.
However, the car can still get down and dirty. The automaker has presented the innovated G 350 d Professional. The model perfectly suits for both gruelling off-road driving and professional applications.
Sporting a “purist design”, the model has a matte black enclosure, 16-inch alloys with a black touch and headlamp protectors. The offering also benefits from an additional 0.4 inches of ground clearance. This helps the car to sport a 36 degree approach angle.
The no frills design can be found in the cabin as well. The model is lacking wood trim and an up-to-date infotainment set-up. Though, owners will feel a malfunction helm, power-adjustable front seats and anti-slip flooring.
A 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine develops 245 hp and torque of 442 pound-feet. The motor is joined with a 7G-Tronic Plus automatic gearbox and a permanent 4-wheel drive and 3 electric locking differentials. In such a way the SUV accelerates from 0-62 mph in 8.8 seconds. The top speed stands at 99 mph. Though it is not fuel-efficient, the offering is a great improvement in comparison with the G 300 Professional.
The G 350 d Professional will be marketed starting from June 1st. In German the vehicle will cost €79,968 along with 19% VAT.
