Mercedes-Benz C-Class receives C160 entry-level variant and 129 HP
Mercedes-Benz has stated about the latest entry-level variant for the C-Class (W205). It will be possible to order it since Tuesday.
The vehicle will receive a 1.6-litre V4 engine generating 129 hp (or 95 kW). Therefore, the car will be 27 hp (or 20 kW) less powerful than its predecessor the C180 (the base petrol offering). The company is going to sell the engine only with a 6-speed manual transmission since the 7G-TRONIC PLUS gearbox which is aimed on upper-spec cars will not be available for the W205.
The C160 will be offered in a form of the sedan. Its price will kick off at €31,683. At the same time the wagon (T-Model) will cost the minimum of €33,349. This year’s Mercedes-Benz C160 Sedan and Estate are going to be delivered at the beginning of June.
The C-Class line-up will enlarge with a coupe variant later this year. A convertible will be born in the family in the next year. As to possible body designs, a four door coupe might go head to head with the 4-Series Gran Coupe from BMW.
