Expect 3 Compact Models From Mercedes By Late 2020
Mercedes wants to invest €1 billion in its next-gen of compact offerings. Now the company will expand its range from 5 to 8 models.
Currently, the automaker offers the CLA, CLA Shooting Brake, GLA, A-Class and B-Class. The 2nd gen will be equipped with the MFA2. 3 new offerings will enrich the range. It is said that an A-Class Sedan s being developed. It is supposed to rival with the A3 Sedan from Audi and the China-spec 1 Series Sedan from BMW. Currently there is not much information, but the model will be previewed this April at Auto Shanghai. The producer also plans a long-wheelbase derivative that will be sold in the People’s Republic only. The company has been producing and marketing stretched C Class and E Class sedans in China for a long period of time.
A GLB might be placed above the GLA in the range. According to gossips, the automaker is going to sell this model in 5- and 7-seat configurations. The 7-seat layout will also feature an extended platform.
