AMG Will Remain 6.0L V12 and Share 4.0L V8 with Mercedes
Mercedes-AMG will continue producing twelve-cylinder models.
The automaker will continue manufacturing their twelve-cylinder cars, though the next variants will have a hybrid engine and an innovated variant of the current mill. Tobias Moers, the AMG boss stated in AutoCar that the six-litter twelve-cylinder powertrain will be dynamically redesigned and that it will adopt some kind of hybridization for meeting the Chinese emissions laws.
The four-litre biturbo eight-cylinder powertrain is at work in the innovated AMG GT and C63. In course of time, it will change the twin-turbo 5.5-litre twelve-cylinder powertrain powering some cars in the Mercedes range. The automaker will create its own variant of the powertrain on a regular manufacturing range while the AMG variants will be gathered by hand in Germany.
